When I first started Strategic Presentations in Digital Media, I thought it would simply be about learning how to present effectively online—how to navigate platforms like PowerPoint or Zoom. However, as the course comes to an end, I realized it’s much more than that. Strategic presentations in digital media are about leveraging the digital tools and resources we already have and transforming them into impactful, engaging, and purposeful content tailored for a specific audience.

It’s not about the act of presenting, but the understanding of how to create a message using the digital formats available. Whether it’s creating a podcast, building a website, or producing a screencast, strategic presentations require recognizing your content’s potential and reshaping it into something that resonates deeply with your target audience. While the course didn’t just help me grow my technical skills, it taught me more about myself (as corny as it sounds). I had the freedom to create, explore, and to present in ways that felt authentic to who I am. Whether it was designing a website that reflected my personal brand or recording a podcast that shared my interests in Gen Z, I discovered new layers of my identity and grew more confident in answering the question: “Who are you and what do you do?”

As I prepare to graduate next month and transition from school to a career, I’m realizing how invaluable these skills are. I am able to present myself strategically through my personal website, LinkedIn profile, and digital portfolio, which gives me an edge in a competitive workforce. And with the right tools and mindset, we can take take what we already know to create a lasting impression in this growing digital world.
